Born in Split, Croatia, Katija Bjelajac migrated with her parents to Washington State where she was raised. At an early age she discovered her love for art. Her father, a former artist, is her major influence and drive.
Katija sold her first major painting at 16, a watercolor donkey, to a coffee shop in Bellingham, Washington. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Art and Design from The Art Institute of Houston. After completing her degree, Katija, delved into her fine art practice, which involved watercolor, ink and acrylic paintings.
Katija has been described as a versatile artist, able to capture multiple different styles in different mediums. Her practice has a wide range of imagery including figurative, abstract, and realism. Katija currently lives and works in Houston, Texas.

Oliver Tabby
Kat’s alter ego, Oliver Tabby grew up both next to the mountains and the sea and his love for nature shows in his work. Oliver finds inspiration in nature and travels frequently around the region, his favorite place being Vancouver, Canada which has influenced his creative style and process. Oliver specializes in acrylics with a focus on abstract art, but also enjoys working with watercolors.

9 Lives Studios is a pen name under which Kat can experiment and play in the digital realm. Themes such as; typography, geometric abstract and textile design are all on the table.
Nina Blue
Nina Blue, another one of Kat’s cats, Is a self taught artist driven by passion to use various mediums and techniques to create aesthetic pieces for wall décor. Typography, graphics, and paintings are some of the types of artwork that Nina creates, with this in mind her style is versatile and can take on many forms. Her passion for art is apparent with her emphasis on composition, delicate hues and beautiful lighting that captivates your attention and imagination.
